London’s theater scene offers Broadway musicals, not just plays, and currently running are Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, and now Hamilton!
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning Hamilton opened in December 2017 at the Victoria Palace Theatre. It was originally scheduled to run to the end of June 2018 but because initial bookings sold out so quickly the run has been extended through the middle of December 2018. The cast is mostly British and diverse, with Jamael Westman playing Alexander Hamilton, Michael Jibson as King George III, Giles Terera as Aaron Burr, and Rachelle Ann Go, who recently starred in the revival of Miss Saigon, will play Eliza Hamilton.
